University Settlement Beginner Photography/ Photoshop:

This course will introduce you to the basic skills needed to use your camera and Photoshop CS5.   
It is recommended that you have a camera and access to a computer with Photoshop to practice outside of class.The lessons we do in class will also be posted on the class blog for review.

Syllabus Advanced Photography / Photoshop January-February: Color Class

Class Description:

This course is designed for advanced photographers who want to better understand color management both in their cameras and in Photoshop.  There will be weekly assignments for students to practice the topics covered in class. Each week students will need to bring in examples of their work from the assignment in either print or digital form.  You should also bring a notebook or folder to organize your class notes.


Week 1 (Jan 2)
Topic: Color Theory
Technical Focus: Preparing Photoshop with the correct color settings,
                             Variations Command Dialog Box
Assignment: Bring in 10 photos you have taken in the past that have problems with color or lighting,
                     Red

Week 2 (Jan 9)
Topic: Color and Lighting (single source artificial light - flash & strobes)
Technical Focus: Preparing your camera with the correct color settings
                             White Balance
Assignment: Green
